Welding is a Delicate Business!

The annual professional skills competition was held at UMP.

The contest was called «The Best Electric and Gas Welder of UMP JSC», and it was held traditionally in Ust-Kamenogorsk Multidisciplinary Technological College. It is a long-standing partner of the plant on personnel training.

As for the participants of the event, this time there were seven of them.

– The review-contest is held with the purpose of increasing the importance of the welder’s profession because no Operations of UMP can do without welding works, – Pavel Borisovich Kazantsev, Head of the Equipment Operation Service, Chairman of Jury opened the event.

The competition consisted of two stages – testing and practical task.

Congratulations to Alexey Bastonogov (Tantalum Operations) for receiving the title of «The Best Electric and Gas Welder of UMP JSC» based on his score. Alexander Govorukha (Tantalum Operations) came in second place, and Andrey Semenov (Uranium Operations) came in third place.
