Tantalum laboratory

The Tantalum Laboratory has practical experience in research & development and supporting new technological processes in the following areas:

• research to determine universal and optimal ways of processing Tantalum- Niobium-containing materials to obtain industrial products with preset properties;
• research on formation of properties and optimization of production technology for perspective types of products made from Tantalum, Niobium and their alloys, research on development of production technologies and formation of properties of capacitor sodium-thermal Tantalum powders in wide capacity ranges for specific consumer demands;
• implementation of comprehensive cold deformation (CCD) technology for Tantalum and Niobium products manufacture. Implementation of the technology will allow to obtain incoming billets with uniform metal processing along the entire billet, to reduce consumption of reagents, materials, and electricity;
• development of technology for production of Tantalum foil modified with Yttrium with properties satisfying deep drawing conditions.

The Tantalum Laboratory has the necessary research base to analyze macro- and microstructure, mechanical properties of products (strip, foil, rod, wire, target), to perform diagnostics and monitoring of capacitor powder parameters in accordance with world market requirements.
