EMS and OS&HMS Requirements
The requirements of the EMS and the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) for companies working on the UMP JSC territory
UMP JSC has developed, implemented, operates and maintains in working order:
- occupational health and safety management system (OHSMS) that meets the requirements of the international standard ISO 45001 Occupational health and safety management systems. Requirements with guidance for their use.
- environmental management system (EMS) that meets the requirements of the international standard ISO 14001 Environmental management systems. Requirements with guidance for use.
UMP JSC has developed the UMP JSC Management Policy.
The personnel of companies working on the UMP JSC territory shall be obliged to comply with the following requirements:
- all work shall be carried out in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of safety and labor protection, industrial and fire safety, and environmental protection;
- comply with the requirements of the general plant instructions on safety and labor protection;
- strictly comply with the requirements of the sections "Environmental Protection" and "Environmental Impact Assessment" when carrying out construction and installation work according to the approved design documentation provided to the customer,
- comply with the requirements of the general instructions on safety and labor protection for workers in beryllium production - for the personnel of contracting organizations engaged in performing work in the production buildings of beryllium production;
- comply with nuclear and radiation safety requirements;
- collect and place construction waste and other garbage in specially designated places;
- prevent spills, leaks and leaks of fuels and lubricants, paints and varnishes and other hazardous and harmful chemicals;
- clean the premises and territory after completion of work;
- use energy resources and water economically;
- do not allow petroleum products and other liquid waste containing pollutants to be discharged onto the ground or into storm drains;
- clean the soil, storm drains, sidewalks, roads and premises in the event of unintentional contact with flammable, lubricating, paint and varnish and other harmful chemical substances, liquid waste containing pollutants, solid waste and other garbage generated during the work carried out;
- use serviceable motor vehicles (cars, tractors, loaders, compressors and other mechanisms) that have passed technical inspection;
- comply with the work regulations in force at UMP JSC.
