Plant newspaper is 25!
The first issue of the corporate edition «UMP-Inform» was published on April 14, 2000, 25 years ago replacing the newspaper «Znamya Truda» which was published until the 90s.
Here are the words of its first Chief Editor, Yuri Alexandrovich Burykh: «When preparing to publish the newspaper, we counted on the fact that it would become a good friend and helper for everyone who works at our order-bearing enterprise».
By the way, he is the author of the name – «UMP-Inform». At that time the editorial office of the newspaper was a part of VIC, and, of course, the issues could not do without the participation of honored employees of UMP Albert Hoffman and Svetlana Mordvinova. Five years later Vera Epifanova was appointed Chief Editor of «UMP-Inform».
20 first issues were published in 2000. Our plant’s newspaper was printed in the shop of multidisciplinary services, especially for this purpose the newest equipment for those times and Japanese risograph were purchased. The newspaper was published in black-and-white format, but two issues were glossy and in color. It was a special issue about the arrival of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. Nazarbayev to the plant and the last one – New Year’s issue. The newspaper used to be paid for purely symbolic 10 tenge.
To date, 684 issues of the plant’s newspaper have been published.
