UMP employees planted 20,000 pine trees as part of the “Taza Kazakhstan” campaign
Employees of the Ulba Metallurgical Plant joined the republic-wide environmental program “Taza Kazakhstan.” Together with specialists from the Bolsherechensk Forest District, they planted 20,000 pine saplings in the “Serokhvostik” tract in the Shemonaikha District.
58 volunteers took part in the event. Thanks to their efforts, a young pine forest will emerge in a few years on an area of nearly 4 hectares, becoming part of the region’s green space.
For the UMP team, participating in environmental initiatives has already become a cherished tradition. Last fall, plant employees, together with forestry workers, planted 20,000 fir trees in the Verkh-Ubinsk Forest District, and now they have made yet another contribution to the restoration of nature in East Kazakhstan.
Forestry specialists will care for the young trees so that, in a few years, a full-fledged pine forest will grow where the saplings were planted today.
