In mid-January, UMP completed planned mutual inspection in the field of industrial safety.
Mutual inspection is an effective tool proposed by Kazatomprom. Within its framework, employees of one enterprise visit another subsidiary organization. Such view from the side gives excellent results in improving work process.
The group of inspectors who arrived at the plant included Mikhail Zaika (Karatau LLP), Gabiden Baimbetov (Karatau LLP mine) and Buribek Abdykalikov (Akbastau JV JSC). The meeting party was Production Safety Director’s Office of the plant.
Mikhail Zaika, Senior Engineer for RS&HSE and team leader of Karatau LLP, came to UMP as an inspector for the second time.
“I would not name our visit an inspection, but rather an exchange of experience. The last time I was here five years ago. Of course, many things have changed, a number of new facilities have appeared. But I would like to point out that personnel attitude to labor, in particular, to industrial safety issues has not changed - that is, labor protection, industrial safety, environmental protection, radiation safety. We had a unique opportunity to compare the approaches to occupational safety of our companies,” Mikhail noticed.
