Melody of the soul of the Great Steppe
National Dombra Day is a special holiday for every Kazakhstani, which is celebrated on the first Sunday of July. There are also admirers of the national instrument among the plant workers.
Almas Kenbayev, Beryllium production operator:
– In my youth, I performed as part of an ensemble of Kazakh national instruments, performed on various stages. I welcome the fact that our country has developed a tradition of celebrating Dombra Day. This is an important step towards the revival of our national culture. It is not for nothing that our people say: "a real Kazakh is not a Kazakh, but a real Kazakh is a dombra."
Madina Rakhmatulina, specialist of the capital construction and reconstruction department:
– I am the only one in our family who plays the dombra. It has become my personal hobby and a way to maintain a connection with the national culture. Most of all, I love to perform classical kuys that convey the spirit of the Kazakh steppe and the history of our people. Now, from time to time, I play the dombra for my family. This helps to maintain the skill and pleases my loved ones.
National Dombra Day is not just a celebration in honor of a musical instrument, it is a holiday of the soul of the people, their history and cultural identity. Let the melody of the dombra continue to sound in every home, inspiring and uniting Kazakhstanis.
