No paper Day: 560 kg saved the trees
On October 23, the Ulba Metallurgical Plant held a successful No paper Day d environmental campaign.
Paperlessness has become an integral part of UMP's corporate culture. Particular attention was paid to wastepaper collection. Traditionally, three collection points were set up: in Building 39 (vestibule, near the entrance), in Building 29 (to the right of the pass office), and in Building 21 (first-floor foyer). By combining their efforts, UMP's departments collected over half a ton of wastepaper.
Svetlana Kazantseva, OSDD environmental engineer:
– For the second year, UMP has been actively supporting World No paper Day. The goal of the event is to draw attention to the rational use of resources and environmental conservation by minimizing paper use in everyday life, including in offices, institutions, and at home.
Tantalum operations, Security department and OSDD, and especially the press service made their efforts to collect 560 kg of paper to further give a second life after recycling. Thus, the campaign was not a symbolic step, but a tangible contribution to waste reduction, sustainable development, and responsible consumption.
